Soooo, a few weeks ago, I had to drive myself to urgent care. It had been raining all day here, and that morning, on the way to work, I fell in the garage on the wet hard concrete and banged my knee pretty bad. I went to work, put ice on it and took some ibuprofen. That worked for a while however, at 2:30pm, before the school day was over, I hopped in the car and headed to urgent care because it started feeling worse. Life at 48. We’re falling apart. LOL. If you are in your 40s then you know the feeling. Thank the Lord, it was only a bad bruise and pain along with some motion issues. I was for the remainder of that evening and the whole next day. An athletic wrap, Tylenol, Ibruprophen, and ice pack were my BFFs. LOL.
This would have accounted for my third injury since school started in early August and it was only September when it happened lol.
Actions that put me on the injured reserved list:
1) A swollen lip from me trying to hit the volleyball and knocking my radio into my face, hard too.
2) Waking up one Saturday last month and I couldn’t use my arm because I haven’t played volleyball in 30 years and my muscles were cussing me out like, girl, you 48!
3) being clumsy slipping and hurting my knee, in the words of Slick Rick, “on the hard concrete”
My advice, be careful out in these streets (or at home), because our 40 and over bodies aren’t getting any younger.
